William Micklem designed the Micklem Competition bridle to anatomically fit the horse’s head. It is made in such a way as to alleviate pressure in key areas and provide more comfort for the horse. It was the winner of the innovation award at BETA International in 2008.
As quoted in the USEF 2012 rules for dressage:
“6. Micklem Bridle. Permitted for use at any level where snaffles are permitted. Not permitted
for use as a double bridle. Bit clips may not be used with this bridle.”
It is also legal for eventing.
The bridle comes with rubber reins, stainless steel buckles with comfortable padding across nose and brow band as well as on cheek pieces, chin and throat strap guard.
