Tom at Skito helped us develop this pad specifically for our “Equinox” saddle; but it can also be used with many other all-purpose saddles, and we feel it’s a nearly perfect pad. The outer cover is made of sturdy cotton/duck material. We find the “gripping” properties of this material to be so outstanding that we felt keepers were unnecessary. The underside is made of pure wool fleece for its comfort and superior wickability. The insert, made of Skito’s open-celled urethane foam, is 1/2″ thick. This foam compensates for any minor saddle fitting issues and absorbs up to 90% of impact shock while allowing dissipation of moisture and heat. Other colors and patterns available by special order.
We offer fitting shims of many configurations that can accommodate weight and condition changes. Please note that shims are pad specific, and need to be ordered for the style of pad you are using.
