Black
Country Saddlery is, in our opinion, one of the finest saddlery companies
today. The quality of their
saddles is superb,
their customer service

They have listened and
responded to customer feedback which has led to some very useful
innovations in their saddles.
The flocking in the panels is a soft, resilient Jacobs wool which allows
saddles to break in quickly to the horse's back,
and helps to wick sweat and
“breathes” to keep the horse’s back cool.
They
have many different options and leathers available on their saddles, most
at no extra charge. Turn around time is remarkably short - usually under
4 weeks.
Options include:
wither gussets , upswept panels , the drop panel, the K panel, gusseted
panel, a modified point billet (through the bottom rather than the rear
of the thigh block), and tree widths done to template.

Black Country “Eden"
The Eden maintains the standards of
comfort and quality for which Black Country saddles are noted. The
seat is semi-deep, offering support without restriction, and the flap is
set further back to encourage a long, classically correct leg.
This saddle works well
on horses with a marked difference in back-to-wither proportion. These
saddles run generously wide with ample space in the channel and the panels
offer a broad weight-bearing surface, while the front point billet and
swinging rear billet offers outstanding stability and equalize pressure.
The Eden is made with Black Country’s “Printed Vintage” leather, which is
very soft and grippy. It breaks in almost immediately and resists
scratches and marks from everyday use.

Rider’s comments: I LOVE this saddle. As
a rider, I’m not a fan of deep-seated saddles, and I find that the Eden
offers amazing security by virtue of its balance – I can maintain the
correct position with no effort at all, even if the horse is being less
than agreeable. The leather’s very soft and has a nice grip to it. As a
saddle fitter, I appreciate the high quality of leather and workmanship,
and the Jacobs wool flocking is outstanding.
Rider’s comments: If all the
folks who lean more towards or own a County saddle (or the countless
others on the market today) tried a Black Country and experienced the
outstanding customer service that goes along with them, they'd quickly be
singing the praises for both.

Black
Country Eloquence
The Black
Country "Eloquence" offers a wider twist and a lower pommel than the "Eden."
The Eloquence allows
you to ride with a shorter leg, which is a huge help for people with hip
flexibility issues.
Wool flocked gusseted panels and a generous gullet clearance provide
outstanding fit for your horse,
and the tree design makes it a good choice for the flatter-backed horse. The Eloquence
offers the same point front billet and rear swing billet as the Eden. Featuring Black
Country's “Printed Vintage" leather,
it feels broken
in on the first
ride, and has
the added bonus of resisting scratches and marks
from everyday use.

BLACK COUNTRY ELOQUENCE ‘X’
Since one of our challenges has been fitting the very
wide horse, we put our heads together with Black Country to create the
"Eloquence X" (as in Xtra-wide). We used our “Equinox” tree, which has
proved its excellence in our distance saddle, with
serge panels for softness, breathe-ability and quick break in. We
stock them with reverse doe on the seat for the ultimate in comfort. This saddle has a medium
twist with an open but supportive seat.
The Eloquence X offers the modified point and rear swing billet system and
a tapered thigh block. We’ve gotten excellent feedback from our riders
on this saddle. If you have been struggling with fitting the big
bodied, big shouldered horse, this saddle may be the solution!

Black Country Vinici Dressage Saddle
Ok,
it looks a bit different … but one ride, and you’ll be amazed.
The Vinici dressage
saddle's mono flap design and overlay billet system offer outstanding
closeness and
feel. The medium
deep seat,
modest twist and supportive thigh block configuration
offer comfort, non-restrictive
security and
correct balance.
The Panels are designed to distribute weight evenly over a wide surface
and the Serge
offers more
breathe-ability, stability and ease of break in.
We do know that one of

"Won't the external billets pinch or rub my leg?”
The answer is "NO." As a
matter of fact, we use this system on our long distance endurance saddle
– so it has to be comfortable!

This is probably about the most
comfortable dressage saddle I’ve ever ridden. And the overlay billets
really don’t interfere in any way. At no time did I get pinched, chafed
or rubbed, even when riding a green horse that required a lot of leg.
